Any sporting club with an offical moniker is one so deeply rooted to its origins. North Melbourne’s Shinboner moniker dates back to the early 19th century and its links with local abattoir-workers. Sydney’s moniker of The Bloods is believed to be derived from a South Melbourne priest who before the 1918 grand final featuring South closed Sunday service with “I bless you blood stained angels to win next week!”.

Then there’s Sandy Bay, “The Hand Baggers”, a particular favourite of ours at Electric Wicky. It’s origins we’re not certain of but we’ve developed some merch that’ll hopefully open up the conversation and lift the spirits.

Was it because the 7005 postcode was wealthier than the rest and that leather handbags were a sign of status? Was it because female supporters of opposition clubs would use there hand bags to demonstrate their disgust at The Bay’s dirty tactics by flogging the players race at Queenborough each time the Seagulls entered and exited the playing field? Or was it because Sandy Bay players were soft and gentle and carried their belongings in hand bags? The beauty of such a tag is that the stories of how and why are many and varied.

In hounour of such a wonderfully successful club, 5 flags in the 70’s if you don’t mind, that is sadly no longer in existence we’ve engaged the services of a bunch of former TFL stars of mixed origins to bring to you the Hand Baggers team of the century. To qualify you had to exhibit most of the following characteristics; flamboyance, toughness, class, courage and guile. And to hold a university degree, to have grown up in a Victorian mansion on a leafy street or be impulsively philanthropic.

Just in time for the opening of Hill Street’s Sandy Bay store, a Sandy Bay hand bag. Big enough for all your charcuterie needs.

SHIPPING

Your Electric Wicky garments are hand printed to order in our Hobart print shop.

Please see below for the expected turnaround times.

Standard Delivery: 5-10 working days

Express Delivery: 3-5 working days

*Please allow an additional 2 business days for NT & WA deliveries

You will receive a tracking number when your order has been shipped.
Our shipping is flat rate, so the more items that you purchase, the better value you get.

Orders are shipped by Australia Post and can be delivered to PO Boxes, no problem.

Delivery times are generally shorter for metro areas than regional. Please note the shipping times above are estimates and some orders can take longer due to factors outside of our control.

Please note that from time to time, some garments may be out of stock
in a specific size or colour and there may be a longer than expected
delay until we are able to print your garment. If any significant delays
are expected, then we will contact you.

REFUNDS

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that
you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original
packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at info@electricwicky.com. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address:

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as
well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order
upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective,
damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the
issue and make it right.

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is
accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
